Imagine walking down the streets of New Jersey, looking up and seeing balconies, terraces and steps on one exceptional home. They were breathtaking, but just one problem, they were not safe…yet!
To meet safety requirements, the areas needed railings. We were here to help! We custom built beautiful exterior safety railings to fix this problem! From an architectural perspective, the desire was to do an iron railing that enhanced the modern farmhouse style of this already exquisite home.
We did the design of these beautiful exterior safety railings in two different variations. Each design was based on the two different interior stair railings. (Post about the interior rails coming soon. YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS IT!!) Both railing designs utilized 3/8 x 1 1/2 flat bar for a 3-dimensional contemporary stair railing look.
The main railing featured an expanding rectangular design. We enhanced its visual appeal with the use of rectangular flat bar. To only expand upon the beauty of this rail, the client chose an upgraded bar channel at the railing posts that we did in a modern rectangular shape as well. Beautiful right?!
To finish it off we did the cap rail in a custom extruded bronze. This added depth, character and contrast to these already eye-catching terrace railings. This cap rail profile was created, polished, tarnished, and topped off with a satin finish clear renaissance wax. We sandblasted, pre-treated and powder-coated all the terrace railing and stair railings in a stunning anodized bronze finish. All that was left was to mechanically attach the bronze cap rail with hidden and countersunk screws to make it look as seamless as possible.
The results were stunning!
Now, this exceptional New Jersey home has safe exterior railings in a beautifully modern design that will compliment the rustic modern farmhouse architecture and last for decades to come.
