A successful executive was building a new home in central Virginia. He wanted custom railing designs that accentuated the beautiful property and all the stonework original to the property. After reviewing wrought iron railing designs with the architect and client, we developed a fairly straightforward aluminum railing design, and added some ovals to tie in with some architectural design elements.
There was not one single segment of this Moorestown, New Jersey security door that was not a challenge. Between the metallurgist husband and the designer wife, they asked for a sample of everything, including hinges and latch hardware, and then asked for improvements.
At the initial design meeting in Moorestown, New Jersey, the client stated she wanted a balcony railing design. Upon being shown standard designs, she wanted something that was more “feminine.” After a balcony railing design was selected, the initial design had some code issues. Design considerations had to be made in order to meet code and still be visually pleasing.
A couple was building an upscale diner in New Jersey on a cliff with awesome views of the New York skyline. They got design inspiration from the architecture of the Biltmore mansion in North Carolina. While the cliff provided panoramic views, it also created a hazard that had to be dealt with a very rigid security fence. The challenge was to also make the security fence very aesthetically pleasing, complementing the caliber of design of the diner.
A beautiful diner was adding another location in West Orange, New Jersey. As per local codes, they needed to add interior design railings for all protection from stairs, walkways and ramps. With the design being inspired by Biltmore mansion in North Carolina, they wanted a look of elegant craftsmanship. Pulling design elements from the beautiful “wrought iron” fence at the cliff, we incorporated 7/8” square pickets turned on the diamond. We tailored the design of the security fence posts to fit the stair railing requirements.
