Classic Architecture with Beautiful Appeal

An architect was designing a classic home in the mainline Philadelphia area. The foyer stair railing design was an issue between the client and the architect.

The design needed to be simplistic enough not to over power the foyer area and to stay within budget. Yet a plain and simple railing design was not acceptable because of the possibility of detracting from the phenomenal architecture.

In the end, a simple but elegant railing design prevailed. Stately overlapping ovals with balls at the top and bottom were attached with no visible welds. The curved stair railing had zero margins for error. And with all the radius’s and switch backs it was a major challenge. But with very precise measuring the stair railing was created for a perfect fit. The Iron railing finish was powder coated semi gloss black. The caprail was bronze in a contemporary profile and a polished finish. The iron foyer railing design ended up being a perfect fit for this upscale mainline residence one that will appreciated and enjoyed for many, many years.
